Last week we were confronted with two scooter thefts at Micro. But the two stories couldn't be more different.
E-scooter stolen from shop window
"Heeeeeeeeeey! Stop!" our shop staff calls after the man who had just stolen an electric scooter from the shop window of the Micro Flagship Store in downtown Zurich. Our sales manager runs after the crook for a few meters, but against the electric power of the scooter, she's got no chance. Her only recourse is to call the police. One thing's for sure, this wasn’t the thief’s first time at the crime scene. He was clever enough to figure out in advance how he could steal the electric scooter from the shop window without being detected by the surveillance camera. Only the offender's legs can be seen on the camera, but not his face (see picture above).
So they do exist after all -- honest thieves
That "thief" is not always "thief" is shown by our second story. In the same week that an E-scooter was stolen from the Micro Flagship Store, we discovered a scooter with a letter in the stairwell of our office in Küsnacht.
"In the summer of 2018 this Micro Scooter was removed from the garage. I ask for forgiveness from all concerned. Now I return what is not mine. I have learned from this. All the best, R."
Somehow sweet, isn't it?
You have to give the two thieves one thing: they both have courage. On the one hand, stealing an electric scooter from a shop window in the middle of Zurich in broad daylight. On the other hand, bringing a stolen scooter back after half a year and apologizing for it.
At this point we would like to thank you, dear R, and say we forgive you! And to the gentleman who is currently still cruising joyfully with the E-Scooter through the area: Just so you know, we have integrated a GPS into all our E-scooters in the shop window, with which we can locate them. Maybe you'll take an example from R and bring the scooter back to us?
